Yes. Everything you log is saved on your phone. Without a network, RationFood AI analyses your text on the device; online features (online products, photo analysis by the online AI, friends) resume as soon as the network is back.

Ration is designed and developed by one person, in France, and funded by donations and optional cosmetics. Every message sent from the app or this site goes straight to him.

On your device, and nowhere else. Ration has no account and no database: the Ration team cannot read your meals, workouts, weight or notes.

Keep a copy: from the settings, one file contains everything, encrypted if you add a passphrase. You can also turn on sync with your own Google Drive, which keeps an up-to-date copy.

On the old phone, make a copy (file) or turn on sync. On the new one, open Ration, then “Receive data” with the file, the code, or by connecting to your Drive.

A hidden folder in your own Google Drive keeps your devices up to date, and a small encrypted relay delivers each change in under a second. The relay only sees encrypted messages it cannot read.

Only the text (or the reduced photo) you analyse, without your name or your log; for portions sized to you, your rounded calorie target. Photos are never kept. Don’t write anything personal in an analysis.

Only what you choose, friend by friend. What you share is encrypted on your device before it leaves: only your friend can read it. Your notes, your Workspace and your cycle are never shared.

Your data is on your phone: uninstalling the app or clearing the site’s data in the browser deletes it. Remember to keep a copy first if you want to be able to come back.

Yes. RationFood AI and RationSport AI use free AI services, and a search someone has already made is kept to be served again at no cost. There is a generous daily limit per device, to prevent abuse.

For a meal described with its quantities, very. Without quantities, it estimates realistic portions sized to you, and you adjust each weight with the slider. Branded products are checked against real labels; a discreet badge shows the accuracy.

Yes. Online, the photo is analysed by the AI (it is reduced before sending and never kept). Offline, a small photo engine can be installed in the settings.

Photograph its nutrition table: the AI copies the values exactly as printed, you check, and the product is saved with its code. The next scan adds it in a second.

On iPhone, a web app no longer receives GPS once the screen locks: it is a system rule. Pocket mode keeps the screen on but completely black, touches locked and the GPS on; it switches on by itself at the start. If a gap still happens, the missing distance is counted in a straight line and marked as an estimate.

Yes: import your activity file (GPX, FIT or TCX). It can also complete an interrupted outing, without duplicates.

In the app, tap “Report a bug” at the top of the home screen: write what happened, and the technical log goes with your message, without any of your data. You can also write to us from this page.

By itself: when a new version is ready, the app offers to reload. Your data is never touched by an update.
